Hows goin, bullman here, need some help. When i cranked my 07 mastiff the speedometer went to 60 as normal but then it stayed there, seemed to be running fine so i drove off and about 2 miles down the road the whole bike shut off. Turned it off then cranked right back up rode a few more miles (motor running good still) and the speedo started bouncing from 60 to peggged out past 120 and the odometer was blinking forty thousand something then speedo and odometer completely died. a couple of miles later Bike shut off again but cranked right back up as i headed back home with speedo still dead. Checked all wiring from speedo to ehc, checked and cleaned speedo sensor seemed fine, battery about a year old and always kept on a tender, checked it with a meter 12v on battery cold 13v after cranked, could speedo just die all of a sudden? any hints or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

per the manual, speedo and speedo sensor both recieve power from the EHC, however the signal wire passes thru unconditioned by the EHC. Loosing power to speedo or speedo sensor is a possible indication of EHC failure/wiring, while loosing signal is indication of wiring. As with alot of these types of issues dont over look the ignition switch itself.
BTW welcome!

All right, checked and cleaned all battery connections, checked ignition switch and wiring, all connected and functioning properly. Bike starts with no problems, but speedo still pegged out and dead along with odometer. Thanx for the help, anymore suggestions?

Checked every thing I could think of , wires etc., then checked voltage at speedo and got 11 volts comin in at the plug inside housing of the speedo, showed 11volts, guess my speedo decided to die, but would that cause bike to shut off? Checked ehc and it had no faults.

I dont think a dead speedo would cause the shut downs. I dont know man, if you got power and ground its not the EHC causing the speedo problem.
As far as the intermittent shut downs you can search that on here and read about issues and fixes. the popular ones are, EHC, wiring issues, ignition system, bad batteries, crank sensor etc.

I wish I had more money.
Try unplugging it and running without it for a while since its not functioning anyway. See if it helps.
