I assume you have a oil pressure gauge like this. Can’t see well enough in your picture.F924F817-939D-40E4-A092-AF286C90B4D4.jpeg

To start with you have the Oil pressure gauge connected to an Oil Pressure relief valve and not the oil pressure port. I tried doing that and it didn't seem right so I went out and got my Oil pressure gauge from Arlen Ness Motorcycles back in 12/29/2008, he sent me a kit that attaches to the rear Valve cover, where it is easy to see the gauge as you ride. The kit included a Y connector block that attached to the oil port and allows you to install both the Light pressure switch and the mechanical oil pressure switch. I don't know if his son is still in business or not Arlene Ness died some time ago. I paid $192.99 for the bolt on kit switch, breaded hose and Y block to attach both pressure switches the Kit Part # is 15-666 and their number is or was 925-479-6350, www,Alreneness.com 6050 Dublin Blvd., Dublin CA. 94568. I don't know if that is your problem or not but it seems like it could be. Hope that helps.

My gauge works fine in the tappet screen opening. Love to see a picture of what you have hooked up. Great info

I'll get you a couple of pictures tomorrow .

Sorry the pictures are not that good, but I did find out the windows 11 does not have a picture viewer unless you want to subscribe like microsoft Office. Anyway I used Acrobat and looks OK but not that good

It can be put in either the tappet screen hole or oil pressure sending unit hole....it doesnt matter....but if put it in the oil pressure sending hole you have to have a tee or the right adapter to put the oil pressure sending unit back in it also....the easiest way is in the tappet screen hole.. also by putting it in the tappet screen hole you can also tell when the screen needs to be cleaned because you will see a lower oil pressure from being dirty....i clean my tappet screen every other oil change....a clean tappet screen is a happy valve train...80% of the time if you hear rattle or tapping in the top end is because of a dirty tappet screen

Ahhh so maybe Zachs tappet screen is plugged & causing it to read zero at idle..

Not necessarily....if it was plugged his top end would sound like death and even worse....hard to say what his issue is without him giving more info....all he said was no pressure at idle so that could be a few things honestly.... could be a plugged gauge, bad gauge or something of that nature....maybe he will let us know more about it

Check the gauge. A lot of failure due to the high heat and vibrations. Especially so close to the exhaust. Other idea could be the orifice could be plugged and not allowing oil to push gauge.
As stated above if it was truly zero oil pressure there would likely be a lot of other identifiers (horrible valve train noise, massive failures, etc).

It’s showing like 25 psi when I rev it up but it doesn’t start to come to life and in tell you start to get like a eighth of a throttle twist

If it was me i would take the gauge out and check the tappet screen....once you get the screen out, if its dirty, just spray it clean with carburetor cleaner and reinstall it..

if it doesn't have a rattle in the top end then im sure its getting oil just fine but it never hurts to clean the tappet screen...

If all i said checks true as far as a clean screen and the top end sounds fine then im leaning toward a dirty gauge or faulty gauge

Another thing i need to ask is the oil dummy light on the speedo housing coming on when its idling? which it should not unless there is oil is low or a problem... If not then im leaning toward a faulty gauge....also does the oil light come on when you turn just the key switch on?....im just wanting to make sure the oil light works

This is the key on bike not running the oil light does light up when the key is on but the bike is not running when I Clean the tapet screen I will take pictures and show everybody what it looks like
