Now that I've read some of the details written above, I realize that I've always used a strap to hold the wheel from turning and keep it in place by going through the wheel and around the channel that goes into the receiver hitch. I did this the very first time a motorcycle tire turned or flipped up while breaking the bead. It does add a little time when moving the wheel around to break the bead and then flip the wheel over. If I'm breaking the bead on the ground, I just stand on the wheel's outer edge.
