Hey everyone, I need help.

My headlight doesn't turn on and when I push the horn button, the bike dies and I have to restart! Any ideas???:hi:

What are you doing pushing the horn button? I forgot I had one of those

My 2 cents sounds like a short and hope not EHC. Any maintenance prior or wash the bike? (I know it doesnt rain there) Headlight doesnt work in Hi or Low? Does your running lights come on? Check the voltage off the Battery.

Yea something shorting out there. I would start by checking the horn wires from the button all the way back to the horn it self and see if any are chaffed or rubbing together. Also check the head light plug at the bulb. There was a recall on this harness in the headlight due to melting.

Option B: Don't blow the horn!:D That thing is an embarassment anyway.:(

All lights come on, except the headlight. I will start by checking the battery and going from there. Hopefully that's the problem.

All the wires look good a far as I can tell. I am going to start with a new headlight bulb. Anybody know why the bike would shut off when I push the horn button?

Any recommendations on a bulb?

I wish I had more money.
Prolly has to do with a short somewhere. Maybe one or the other is shorted and they are on the same circut?

i'm hoping its just a short somewhere, i will really dig into it this week. If the bulb is burnt, doesn't the "bright" indicator turn on on the speedo?

If your low beam is burnt then the high beam automatically comes on.

doublecheck the condition of your grounds at the battery these bikes are very sensitive to the grounds being very clean and very tight

This was my first thought, i cleaned all the wires and posts and even put new bolts and still having the same problem. Bike starts fine, runs fine, all lights come on (except headlight) and when horn button is pushed the bike shuts off! :bang:

You don't have a PDM installed on your scoot do you? If so some of the early released kits went out without a horn relay and when you hit the horn button it caused the scoots to shut down... Just asking

No PDM installed. As far as i know, it's the original EHC. I didn't have any problems with the light or the horn or the bike shutting down like that until last week. I'm researching EHC's right now.

Does anyone know what i should expect if the headlight bulb is completely burnt? May be wishful thinking, but thats what i'm hoping for!

Being that the lights and horn are on the same circuit board on the hand controls, could be your controls got wet and shorted out the circuit board. It did you get caught in the rain or did you bathe the dog. Just a brain fart hope that helps

No water here in NM! But I think I have it narrowed down to the circuit board. Any ideas where to get a new one?

.....and on a side note, my wife and I may be going to Harlingen in August to visit family. I'll let you know and maybe we could grab a cold one.
