Beautiful day in MN yesterday, 97 degrees and sunny. After work, the missus and I met with Kevin (Thumper29) and we did some riding. Took the back roads along the St. Croix river from MN to Wisconsin. It was perfect conditions as the evening cooled.
Thumper29 just purchased this '07 K9 and has already added pipes and a few other things. When he bought the 2007 K9 the pipes on it were popping like crazy. The dealer (Fury Motorcycle, St. Paul, MN) stepped up and gave him a great price on the new supertrapps and while working on it they threw in new cams with the deal. I would'nt have thought it would make much difference except we were on the freeway, long and straight with no one around. We were riding side by side and I dropped my '05 Chopper down one gear, rolled on the throttle, speeding away from the K9 and shifted back into 6th at a high rate of speed. Well, I must say I was surpised when Thumper came cruising by me in a very short distance, and continued to pull away, all from a throttle roll on! Maybe that's why those pipes crack like they do.
Actually, if they can figure out the popping (which is earsplitting), that bike would be ideal.
