It's Autolite for me. I used the NGK and switched to Autolite. Never had a problem with them though. NGK is a very good plug and I use to use them all the time in my Honda CR250 and CR125. THe NGK's always took care of me, but I can get the Autolites a little cheaper.

Another round please
Just put in Champions, can't find NGK anywhere. My BDM dealer sells the Champions, thats what they recommended.

I think the reason behind the manufacter saying not to "gap" the platinum or irdidum plugs is it may scratch away the coating that you payed so much money for. Don't qoute me on this but it makes sense also.

I've tried accel, champion, autolite and NGK, my opinion is the ngk doesn't seem to foul as fast. but like Lee said if it runs it runs. Might possibily get a little quicker starts thou out of platinum

Just replaced my plugs. Old plugs were NGK DCPR7E. New plugs NGK DCPR7E in my 07 Mastiff. The oem Champion plugs cost almost 40% more from my local auto parts dealer . Normally it's the NGK's which are more expensive. The IX iridiums were 400% more expensive per spark plug :nono::job:

For reference my AIH Texas Chopper manual specifies NGK DCPR7E, same spark plug.

Manufactures specify whichever company gives them the best deal at the time.
Resellers give the best prices to whichever supplier gives them the biggest kick back.

Way of the world :(

I just paid $32,- for a box of 10 of them NGK DCPR7E's. I replace them with every oil change just to keep an eye on what's going on in there. My dog is tuned to run and at big events with lots of stop and go they have a tendency to foul up....

I know it's an old thread but it's always a dilemma for new owners regardless....
