Newbie to site in need of some help

Hello everyone I have been watching this site for a couple years now since I fell in love with Big dogs I finally got an 08 Pit last year. My issue is that my throttle cable popped out the bottom of the control so I thought no big deal open her up and it should wrap back around just like any other dual throttle cable. Well my first issue is I can't get the whole control to come off the bar it seems like the something is holding the bottom still together so I didn't want to force it. With it partially open I can see that one of the little brass looking screws is missing. So how do I get this thing apart and where do I find a new brass screw, help?

IF its the brass ferrule on the end of the cable, you can pick one up and any HD shop. Use some painters tape on the controls and you can work on them easier. You only need to pull the front small cover to gain access. The tape on the bars/controls will hold the back side in place sorta, so you can replace the ferrule. Hope this helps....

Thanks for the help I got a shop manual from Curtis and I'm going to take another shot at it this weekend
