is there any way to test the ehc on my o5 ridgeback? Ive come to find that I cant buy a replacement part and the wire plus is time I dont have. I had a few hours of ride time and was gonna put that into fixing my dog but, I'm at wits end here. Help before I kill this sick puppy. please

You've said in one thread that you've "self diagnosed" the EHC to be bad but then you tell us that you're new to EHC issues. So, I'm wondering, how did you decide the EHC is bad?
In an effort to get you back on the road you need to start by telling us what the scoot is doing with as many specifics as you can think of such as...
Do you have fresh gas in it?
Do you have spark? If not, is the light lit on your ignition module when you press the RUN button?
How old is your battery? Is it in good shape? Have you had it load tested?
What's it do when it dies? Are the lights still on? Are there any LED's lit on the EHC?
Stuff like that...

there were a couple of ehc's on ebay as friday, i would check there.
I would agree with DRBarnhart that you need to be very explicit in describing what the systoms are and what procedures you have already done, with enough info some here can probaly tell you (been there done that) and how to get your bike fixed correctly

my dog has acted odd- started up with the flashers flashing, died while just down from a freinds house, restarted but headlight didnt work, replaced a blown bulb-fired right up-i didnt ride it then and next week rode bout 2 miles and it died while in 5th gear at normal traffic speeds, pulled to the side and it restarted, rode it home and has not started since. all is good in regard to basics, gas etc. at one point the bike will show fire, then it wont, today after removing and cleaning the gell from the EHC connections it fired on one cylinder then nothing, rolls over, battery is new. 12.8 volts on meter check, I am not knowlegeable about the led's on the EHC. meaning I am not sure what its suppose to be flashing. but shows power red light and green and yellow,

I'd be tugging on all the wires hooked to the battery to see if the crimps are good.
So you know, the EHC has nothing to do with it if your Dog is running on one cyclinder. The EHC supplies power to the ignition module then the module sends power to the coil and the crank position sensor. Then, based on info from the crank sensor, it's the ignition module that controls which jug fires and when.
I would still get it load tested since having voltage doesn't necessarily mean you have power. You should also check to see if circuit breaker going from the VR to the battery is good (not popped) just to make sure your battery is getting charged.
If you do a little search on this forum there's at least one post that'll tell you what the litttle lights mean...
Overall, based on what you've said, I'm betting on a loose wire.

Okay, here's my 2 cents worth.

I would check the keyswitch. They vibrate and loose contact internally intermittently. Don't hang anything heavy from the key, it will cause problems.
Check the voltage feed wires to the ignition. See the wire A19 feed to the ignition module...check that wire and connector (power & ground) clean with fresh dielectric grease. Power supplied through EHC with key on.
Repack the EHC connector with fresh dielectric grease. Available from an Automotive store.
You might have the OFF button signal from the RH handlebar switch shorting to ground somewhere. Ground active signal. Turn OFF the bike from the handlebar OFF button and not the keyswitch. Button first then key OFF.
Loose or bad wire crimps at connectors on battery terminals. Mentioned earlier.

Seems pretty stupid to buy a "newest updated ehc" for 500 bones instead of dumping it.
These guys are doing a good job at trying to diagnose your problem. Could be something as simple as a ground (sounds like it) and in which case you're just wasting time.
If you don't have time to put into a bike, then you may want to consider getting an electric scooter. Every bike I've ever owned has demanded some time, even if it was just for preventative maintenance. With these big S&S motors, it's going to shake and vibrate anything it can loose.
Don't know if you have a trailer, but Paducah isn't that far from Madison, TN where R&B Cycles is. Those guys rock if you can get it there.
