I always get mine at American Motorcycle Warehouse but others buy them off eBay for a lot less than you get at the dealer.

Do you plan on changing it yourself? If not then you will need to find a shop that will install it for you if you don't buy it from them. I changed mine and LDO and I changed his. The rears can be a pain but the fronts are easy.

I have no issues with Metzler or Avon. I put lots of miles on both. Don't know about the new Dunlops.

Have fun,

Hi guys, ray you would probably know this for me. My Bulldog 2005 needs a new rear tyre. at mo running avons, but the metzeler is more oval unlike avon which is flattish. Do you know whether there is enough width to sqeeze in a 260 otherwise i will have to make do with a 240. thanx for the help......

I just added a new avon cobra (more oval the any tire i've seen) to my 2004 Chopper and I love it. The bike handles much better (in the turns) as much less rubber on the ground.

Stinger, im runnin same as Sparkrulz. bigger tire jus gonna cause issues for ya. check out thread started by LDO on tire wear.. Metzlers just dont work well w our bikes. or so it seems. I suggest Avon. im on third tire on my bike . 2 Metzlers now Avon. it is a better tire- for these motorcycles anyway.

I am running the Dunlops on my Mastiff. I like them better than Metzlers I had. I looked around on the net and found both tires (front and rear) for less than $300. Also, order the Dyna Beads too! :2thumbs: Info from Dennis Kirk Dunlop Rear Elite 3 240/40VR-18 Blackwall Tire

Needed tire when my bike was being serviced. Picked what they had at time. Bike handles OK, tire just doesn't look like it belongs on a chopper like this. Stick with Avon!

replaced my stock metzler with a dunlop elite 3 240-40-18 it just looks small and it dident seat all the way small gap between rim and tire had no rear brakes just one small scrach in rim he said was there hope i can put more air in it to get it two pop out

Just watch and check your tire manufacture dates... I forgot to!

I bought a set of tires, Avon Venom front and Avon Cobra rear from my local dealer and had them installed sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Two weeks ago I got my bike out and decided to do a tire pressure check and looked at my front tire and about shit myself.

The front tire looked like someone did 1" filets all the way around the running surface of the tire. It looked like the 1/16" top surface of the tire was coming apart from the rest of the tire.

I took it to the dealer and they said no problem, they would replace it but the date stamp on it was from July 2008 !!!!

They even had ordered it in from the warehouse.

Better yet I got a Cobra for replacement.
