If you do a search, alhall posted some Avon grips a few years back... Basically black rubber sleeves that can be installed over smooth grips.

A buddy of mine has one on his concours,seems to work ok for short periods before it slips. Unless things have changed they won't work on a big dog. They make two styles one for metric bars(19mm?),and harley bars (1")

If it slips a little just take a thin bicycle tire tube and cut 1 inch pieces off it to put on the grip until it doesn't slip anymore.
