I'm soooo confused......lol

Let me see if I can clear this up.
1. turn key on.
2. with right thumb, push the run - stop switch to the run position.
3. with the same right thumb push the start button
4. go ride the thing and don't worry about the little stuff.

If something falls off, stop and pick it up, and we'll help you put it back on.:cheers:
:roll:amen! Believe me, it takes a little bit of effort, but if you quit worrying so much and just enjoy the ride, it can be so much fun!!

You'll get there.
In 06 when I got mine it was my first American V-Twin, had all Jap bikes before. I have had the trany out (2008) put on new S&S Rocker Boxes in (2009) and now I just rebuilt the top end. Also new forks, tires and all the custom shit Ive done....:2thumbs:
Also on my second Harley now...:loony:

Looking forward to retirement
The 1o7 is like a 1969 Chevy 327. Just a fantastic motor! But it has high compression. I added electric compression releases and tied them into my starter relay. So when you push the start button to engage the starter, they automatically open. I use to not have them, but after eating 3 heavy duty Spykes starters I said screw this and put them on! I have owned my bike since 2004. I found this forum in 2011 and had done so much do to trial and failure. Your very fortunate to have these guys! Great wrenches !

Lots of aftermarket parts on this one: points cover, clutch cover, gas cap cover, instrument cluster, mirrors, pipes, head bolt covers, etc. Other than all this, it's a dead ringer for my '03 Chopper (Black Betty).

Well I pulled the tank yesterday and inspected the wiring, then zip tied things up a little better and reassembled. Then I cleaned up the battery terminals. Still no brake lights. I'm ordering the thunderheart kit as step 1.

I think I understand what you guys are saying about the recall. I have the 2nd tube in the frame below the main tube. It does have the RT logo too.

Hey Francoblay1 - I was just thinking about that the other day! I'm going to get a bunch of new pictures and do a big updated pic thread. Kinda like a before/after thing! Maybe I can do that this weekend if time allows! I need to do that bad!

I'm pretty much finished - changed out a LOT. Got her to the point where I want her now, and really look forward to putting a ton of miles on her next summer instead of wrenching so much!!

Funny thing is when I started this thread I knew very little about dogs. I thought my bike had a bunch of 04 stuff on it (hence the thread title). Little did I know it was just me not knowing wtf I was looking at....lol. Its all 03 except the ignition cover which like somebody said here was probably swapped out during the frame recall.

Thanks for reminding me - I'll post a full before/after update VERY soon!! :D

When BD did the recall in 03 on the RT frames they put the new 04 coil cover on the bikes.

Just FYI
