hello everyone,

I just purchase a 2004 mastiff. It needs a good cleaning and some maintenance. It looks like the gas tank has some type of green coating in it that is coming off and is laying in the bottom of the tank. Anyone have any ideas?

Tank Liner Kit

You will need to throw some chain in with the cleaner to get all the crap out of the tank. You have to thoroughly mask your tank or you will damage the paint if you get any of the product on it.

You could also just put acetone in the tank with some chain, clean as much of the crap out as possible and then just keep gas in the tank so it doesn't rust but its not a good idea. You are far better off sealing the tank again.

There is a slight possibility that a few minute pinholes may show up and it will require more than one coat.

thanks to all who replied,
I looked at some old threads and contacted George at fuel tank lining services in ft Lauderdale fl. He wants 965.00 to fix the tanks. After reading some other threads, i'am going to try to fix the tanks myself. i'll keep everyone posted. Thank you
