I just drilled and countersunk it where the holes needed to be to switch it to vertical. They aren't pre-marked like some of the older ones, but with a little common sense, it's pretty easy.

Then you have a different mount and backing plate than what came on my K9. Mine is all one molded together setup. No seperate mount.

The tag light unbolts from the backing plate. I'm referring to the backing plate and mount are all one piece which is why it can't be mounted vertically. I'm guessing some 2009s had the two piece design and maybe the later production ones...like mine...came with the one piece designs.

Cool didn't know we could flip them here legally. I flipped mine in 07, it says Bad Dog. No hassles so far. I might have picked something different if I knew we could have gone with 4 and flip it.

Legally it has to be mounted the direction that it reads, but I have never heard of anyone being hassled about it here.

Looks like PA has pass a law in Nov. making you pay an extra $20 a year to run a vertical plate. That's $20 on top of the $18 per year for registration. I will just wait and see if I get stopped.

Jim, I have been running mine like this for about 6 yrs and never had any problems and I was stopped once and nothing was even said about it. I even live 6 houses from Pa SP.

Looks great!! I’m doing mine before spring. Just installed that open primary too, along with a new 140 ci elbruto. Holy crap was that primary expensive! Not to mention a month wait!

I just flipped one. I had to drill new holes in the backer plate. The one I did was already marked where it needed to be drilled.

I have the same tag mount as yours & it also had 4 pilot marks. It was easier to place the LED side towards the frame, & just slightly mill for minor wire re-rout without lengthening wires too.

For your Spanish plate? That ain’t a plate, it’s a door. I got lazy and just put our plate to original backplate
