I stumbled acress this in a new mag I got and thought it was worth looking into to replace the BDM stock switch.
It is a Transponder that you carry in your pocket and just fire the bike up. If the transponder isn't around the bike, it will not turn on and start.

Yeah my wife has that security system on her HD.. well the HD equivilant. There is a buttonless key fab that she keeps in her pocket. If its not within like 2 ft of the bike it won't start. But she also still has a key. Like I said, its more like a alarm/starter kill. It also makes the blinkers flash when you stand the bike up. And if you try to start it without the transmitter it flashes the blinkers like crazy. They had a upgrade which I think also brings the horn into the picture. Further, you can override the system with a carefull pushing of hand controls and a code. But I don't remember how! YIKES!

This would be cool. I wonder if you wired it in.. as soon as you sit down, the bike turns on, you push run, then start it. ???

I have had about 20 years of car audio and remote car starter install experience and from what the wiring diagram looks like it should work on our bikes. The only difference it would work a bit differently. The two wires that they show wired to the start button and the starter, would get wired in place of our two wire key switch. As soon as you got on the bike that relay would power up the ignition switch just like if you turned it on, you would push the run/start and go. I'll find out.

BDM thats the only way I see it working on our bikes also Instead of a starter kill it would act as(the IGN switch) a total system kill only thing that would suck every time you step close it would be like the IGN switch was on (headlamps on and total system power) not good esp hanging close to your bike say at a bar, bike event, or places you kinda stay close range that wouldnt be a good deal???

Yeah its a nice mod but honestly I'm looking to get rid of as many electronics as I can not add to it. I would like to totally remove the ehc, rear turn signals, all handle bar switches. It would be nice to go with a basic harness key switch and push button start.I'm just not quite sure I'm ready to take this project on just yet.

Is it set up so you can start your bike without a key?

yes no key needed the control box acts just like the key....powers on the system; could be wired in siries for an extra layer of protection in that case key would have to be on and the wireless remote on button enabled

Well pissed, let us know how it turns out. I could be swayed into trying it... would be a nice idea instead of doing a key in the new motor mount mod.

so far i love it used it all day worked flawlesslly everytime as stated can be inatsalled 3 ways:
1: piggy back....both key and remote works
2: in series.....key has to be on and tranmitter enabled (extral layer of protection lkie havenig to IGN switches just one you cant see)
3: remove key cylinder or take out of the circuit altoghter

Sweet!

I still like the idea of walking away from the bike and the system "arming" itself. But for the price, it sounds like a great alternative.
