been using the cotton gun cleaning tips to polish engine fins, use the round cotton swabs on the end of cleaning rods with cordless drill, (note use elect tape or heat shrink tubing on the aluminum rods so if thay bump chrome or paint thay dont scratch) thay can be easly replaced from any store that sell gun cleaning supplies, its been working great on mine, no picts yet, oh yea the replacement tips are cheap.. oh & your choice of pollish

several will work depending on your kit, 357-- 410-- 9mm-- 40 cal some may be alittle snug, some models are a little more fluffer than others, depend on mfg... I tried several thay all work pretty good,, I thought this was a good subsitution to the pimp stix, besides I can put them in my drill, makes it a little easer than all that rubing, but I did read the thread on this, this is just my idea, hope it helps

Yea need pics cause all the cotton cleaner I have for my guns have a metal or copper coil in the middle. I am sure that is not what you are talking about cause that would wredk havoc on your shit if it made contact.....

yea I use one of the extention rods & wraped with elect tape to prevent scratching if rod touches anything, take your time & it seems to work well, I hate to work harder than I have to

Eric: You could probably get a piece of small poly pipe and place over the rod to give you better control. Kinda like the Powerball extension has. Just a thought!

Yea I was thinking some small water poly pipe so you could hold it and the rod would spin inside it. You got the protection from the metal covered good:2thumbs: :2thumbs: .... just thought that would help control it better while spinning(could hold it closer to the work to stabilize it better) Gonna try it when I get home!    :2thumbs:
