New headlight? what works?

About the only thing I really want to fix on my 09 Mastiff is the highbeam headlight. And the older I get the worse my nightvision (and numerous other things) work.

I don't want a different headlight housing, but just a new reflector/bulb to fit in it.

It's low beam is great, no complaint. But highbeam is as useless as teats on a boar hog. I am sure everyone that rides at night with the same headlight knows what this is about. There is simply no light ahead on high-beam. It's not a re-aiming problem, I tried that.

So, I guess somebody has the solution, what is it?

Yeah I have the 6k HID light from Jake, wouldnt trade it, super bright at night, have a few friends that refuse to allow me to ride behind them at night due to the light.

I got the kit from Jake today and installed it this evening.

I just got back from a short ride to test it.

Low beam is fantastic. It is at least 10 times better than stock.

High beam doesn't appear to be HID, it looks yellow, but it also is a whole lot better than the BDM Highbeam.

So, what's the story on the high beam? I was expecting both high and low to be HID.

But this light kit was worth every penny it cost...

Read the instructions, the HID is your low beam.
I read the instructions, how do you think I installed it? After I re-read the website where I ordered it, I saw it is HID only on low.

The question is "So, what's the story on the high beam? I was expecting both high and low to be HID."

Is there a reason the highbeam can't be HID as well?

And it's still worth the money, but I would have spent extra to have HID hi/low beams.

its in this thread.....the high beam is just a filler so it won't mess up the EHC

Yea, what Gas said:D ,

Because eveytime you start your bike up that little candlepower 35W halogen bulb would be on, and you would have to switch over to high beam (HID)!!!

The little 35W is just a filler to make the EHC happy! The HID is all that is important. It is what you'll use all the time, trust me.

Oh, Gas, and the EHC's "USED TO" freak out sometimes. They don't anymore.:2thumbs:
