I am considering getting a big dog chopper model. I have heard that one side drive is better then the other. right side verses left side. is there a preference as far as handling etc.? I am considering lookin at a 2004 chopper that has left side drive. dose the right side drive balance the bike better? thanks.

I'm sure you will get different responces .
LEFT SIDE DRIVE FOR ME . Interchangeable with HD parts .
Tranny and primary . Just used to the belt being on the left brakes on the right ,I guess.
Handeling ? ? Whats that > we are talking about a chopper right .
Great in a straight line : )
Love the ol chopper . Big Dog bikes Rock - S&S motor ,Baker tranny it dosent get any better than that . Just work out the eletrical issues. . . . .
Good luck & welcome From NY .

I am definitely New school in my thinking.
I prefer the Right Side Drive completely and whole heartedly.
Way easier to work on than the LSD as far as drive train goes and I think the DSSC is the way to go with a custom if your going for that clean tight look.
The only draw back can be finding some parts but that won't be an issue for anyone that finds Wild Steed Worx, at least not for the next 15 years or so.

thanks for the feedback. by handling I ment that I head that the left side drive where heavy towards the left side, like the bike wasnt balanced good. anything to that? but to be honest the dudes I heard it from didn't own a dog. so they may not known what the heck they were talkin about.

thanks for the feedback. I might as well look for a rs drive even though there may not be much difference between them. there is a ls drive I really like for sale that I may look at later on after prices hit the fall skids. would like to get him down more. down to 10500 now but less is better. heck he may be on this sight for all I know.....its a 2004 chopper, very sharp. again/ thanks for the comments.

I have a 2004 chopper LHD with a 3.5 open belt drive on it and it's fine. No problems with it not being balanced. If you are a real biker, 5 minutes on it and you won't notice a difference between either.
