Hey Chili! If I ship my raw K-9 tins down to you, ya think you can get your guy to do mine? (And would they get there and back OK??)

Shovelcowboy
Hey Ken!!!!
great to hear about ya! As I told all the members who have asked like you, you can pack very well your tins and send em to my El Paso TX address (I go upthere every 15 days, wifeys shopping :D). Ill pick em up and bring em to my guy.

i think that would work for you my friend.

I wasn't going to go near this, but I couldn't hold my tongue any longer.
$450 bucks will barely buy just the materials for a Quality paint job. Anyone who does any painting already knows this as fact. Anybody who does paint work at these ridiculous prices is cutting corners somewhere, either in cheap materials or quickie labor.

I know I'll probably piss off some of you guys, and I'm sorry for that. All I'm trying to say to those jumping on the "cheap paint job" bandwagon is... Buyer Beware!

I got to stick up for my friend Ed here and say that he is not being sour grapes, just genuinely concerned. Ed is a very honest man and serious about quailty. That's one of the issues for him living in Wichita...too many laid off painters who don't have a problem cutting costs on materials to steal a job away. Ed won't cut out the quality materials because in the end it'll bite everyone on the butt when it doesn't last.

I don't have much money and so I was blessed that Ed and I could trade services for my artwork. I did pay for my own paint supplies. I got it at cost...what the painter's pay...and just the paint itself cost over $500... more than your whole job....this is why he has some concern with the quaility.

It's not about Ed painting the most detailed flames...it's about making sure the job lasts so you aren't having to pay for it to be re-done all over again.

Just want to make sure everyone has all the knowledge they need to make the right decision for themselves.
I, of course, have nothing to make off anything myself...just looking out for eveybody too because I love you all! :)

About 15 years ago I worked as a painter at a new car dealer.
When I painted stuff on the side I would slip the manager some cash and I could use whatever materials I needed.
We used so much paint, enough to paint some tins was a drop in the bucket. Lol
Just putting it out there. It is a possible way you got a quality job at an unbelievable price.

I've been watching this & I agree with all parties.. that is 1 kick ass paint job.. that price is great.. since I run my own bussiness, I'll add this... alot of people are suffering.. & are willing to do any work for less.. just to keep some income comming in... I see people that really know there shit, cutting cost,, that dosent mean its a bad job or poor materals or rushing work.. we all just strive to stay in bussiness.... the bottom line is no matter how good your skills are if people cant afford em you cant stay in bussiness... but then agin quality cost....I've had to cut prices too just to stay in the market.. (I have to be willing to work for less sometimes) agin I want say thats a great paint job.. hay chihuasbigdog.. you think he can help out the other members? we all need a deal... bikes looking good bro.....:2thumbs::2thumbs:

as I said before, I will help ALL the members that want this kinda job.
with all the pms I ve received maybe you can check if ups or fedex can send your tins down here! chihuahua, mexico. Ill can give my buds address and email, so you can send em directly the parts and design, no worries, hes a honest man and would tell ya if he's capable of making your project paint or not.

i was not expecting so many members interested in this! but as I said, if you dont have any hurries, I go to El Paso TX every 15 days and can pick up your tins.

my bike was done in 9 days, both fenders, tank and 2 side covers.

I personally LIKE A LOT my paint, and I dont hate my wallet.
I do admire Eds paintings, he is sick (if I have the money you can bet he will painting mine), and dont wanna step anyone toes, just tryin to pass a helluvadeal that I found.

That's not what we were saying. Ed does do work for alot less than he should too just to stay in the market....I know alot of painters that aren't half as good and charge twice as much. We were just saying to make sure you know what you are getting into because the quality paints usually cost more than what he paid for the whole job. You can't stay in business if you spend more than you make. Ed was just looking out for you too!

I understand... I used to paint cars......... I know about that trade..believe me... I dont know how to airbrush... I understand the cost of materials...& quailty labor... hay I dont always get the lowest bids in my line of work eather... someone will always beat you out on some of the work.. thats not to say thay arnt doing a good job.. or cheep materials... I'm involved with bussiness everyday... its a dog eat dog world... just sayin some peop,le work for less than I will.. I'm sure this is whats going on... not saying anything bad about eather party.. ED even gave me advice on matching my frame .. which I did my self..

FREEDOM!!!
I used to air brush bikes, flames designs, pearls, metalflakes, etc and used 2 part paints, acrylic urethanes etc etc. There is no comparison possible. The blue flames are absolutely gorgeous and at an incredible price BUT, Ed is in his own league. It's not apples to apples. Ed is ART and that kind of talent is God given and priceless!!!

Again, congratulations on a stunning flame job!!!!!
