To all new members and members that have missed the previous discussions about Cruise-Mate Throttle Control.

Hey Guys, if you didn't already know, there is a kick-ass throttle / cruise control available for your Big Dog motorcycles and just being a member of this site gets you an 18% discount.

We've already sold over 50 to forum members, and to the best of my knowlege everyone is very, very happy with the quality, performance and looks of this product.

MSRP for Big Dog Cruise-Mate is $84.95, member cost is $69.95 plus $2.50 shipping.

Search the forums using the term cruise-mate and see what your brother Big Dog riders think.

Oh, and by the way, if you install one on your bike and don't like it, I'll buy it back and give you $10.00 for your trouble.

Thanks to all the members that have already bought and installed Cruise-Mate, and don't forget, stop using that fucking enrichener for warm up, use Cruise-Mate.:2thumbs:

Works pretty good holding the throttle but it is NO cruise control or nothing like what you get on an HD or others. I use only when riding alone as I find it almost impossible to hold a steady speed when riding with a group - I am either too slow or too fast over time. Hell this is FL and the roads are flat.

Great to warm up the bike and reduce the tension on your right hand on rides.

Slowrider,

Sorry you aren't satisfied with Cruise-Mate. You're completely correct it is no match for a $500.00 HD electronic cruise-control, however, you only paid around 60 bucks for it to.

My guarantee is 100% satisfaction, therefore, you are welcome to return your Cruise-Mate and I will refund your money plus provide you with a bushing that will return you to your original thumbscrew, plus pay you $20.00 for your effort.

I guess I may have the most miles on this "Cruise-Mate" after having it installed at Daytona Bikeweek this year. I then rode my bike across this great country of our then up the coast from Palm Springs to Washington State. More recently I returned to Kalifornia for the Redwood Run, a short 1400 mile trip with two days of riding. This cruise mate is a great replacement for the silly little screw that the older bikes had to lock the throttle. I hear the newer bikes don't even have one!!!
I can only tell you that after about 10,000 miles actually put on this new product that it does everything it states plus some.
When you are on the road for over 12 hours a day it very nice to lock down the throttle for a few minutes to rest the hand or warm it up on the rocker box.
Having said all this all of you need to remember this is ONLY a throttle lock and replaces the "hard to work" screw the stock bike comes with.
But this one works so much better and easier than the stock unit.

Enjoy,
Ray

I'm just gonna say this about 1001 more times ... CruiseMate is the best addition to these BigDog for warmups, cruisin', scratchin' etc when riding. Period!. The materials are top notch and also the customer service and will out last the bike and I think my bike will last a long time and I plan to keep my dog for a long long time. Even then ... when and if I get another Bigdog or whatever CruiseMate will be the first mod I would do unless it's an OEM item. Ok 1000 more times left. Nuff said ....:D  :flag:

One more thing .... any of you on the fence about this just DO IT! You will not regret it ... or you're just not riding your dog enough. Sorry I did say Nuff said but for now .... Nuff said!!!!! Good Night!!! Oops ...

I will tell ya this... I have been on the highway a bit the last 3 days... and it works great once you get it set right. A bit too far forward and you loose speed a bit too far back and you gain speed. Eventually you get the trick down on setting it without moving your hand and its easy as hell. BUT, damn fuckin wierd if you ask me to roll down the road with the right hand not on the grip. Cool but damn wierd!!!

As far as Slow's comments. I understand cause this unit doesn't advance or pull back like the high end HDs and our cars, but at a fraction of the cost I don't care.

Thanks again Tom for a great product and standing behind it like about no other company does anymore!! I have been telling everybody about it.

I haven't fitted Lisa's yet - I thought you were supposed to get the drill and tap with it but I didn't.

I guess I'm just pissed off generally right now with my bike being down.

Installed mine this morning on my 07 Bulldog seeing how my bike is down needing some new brake pads or I would be out riding. Install went easy and it looks to be a nice addition to the bike. I am glad I have installed it. Look forward to trying it out soon...Everything is top notch

I am not saying I don't like it, I do and its great for warm ups and when your hand gets a bit tired I am completely satisfied with it and would buy another. As Raywood said, its a way better throttle lock and I agree ... it was just my wishing I had cruise control when riding with HDs on long rides.

Slow,
Great, glad to hear you do like Cruise-Mate. I invented it because I have a dead hand (drove a spike through it a few years ago) and after searching high and low, without results, for a quality product that would give my hand a break while riding I went into my garage and came up with Cruise-Mate.

I too would love to have electronic cruise control on my Electra Glide Classic, however, refused to pay the HD price for the upgrade. And glad I didn't or wouldn't have invented CM.

Ride fast, long and safe.

Hey Bulldog03, looks like you have the original style Cruise-Mate on that bike. thought I upgraded all members to the new low profile, cleaner looking version. If I didn't send you the upgrade, send me your address, I'll see you get it.

I see what you mean Slow. For me it was a cheap mod, so cheap that its use no matter how little justifies the amount of chedda

I love my Cruise Mate but I don’t really use it as a cruise control the way I would in a car. It is a throttle lock and a very good and easy to use throttle lock but living in Colorado there are a lot of ups and downs so it does not really work as a cruise control. That said I still think it is one of the best mods I have don’t to the bike. I can lock the throttle and give my arm a rest or I can just tighten the Cruise Mate a little to make the throttle a little stiffer and that allows you to relax your grip for a while but still have control of the throttle.
