Ok, for those that are waiting for an answer. No the Harley thumb won't work. There isn't enough room in there to get all the parts in there properly.

I have the Harley thumb screw in my 2004 chopper. I bought it that way.... Thought it was stock.

Found this little device several yrs ago. Still for sale on eBay. Slides over your grip. You just use your thumb and push it down against your front break control and then let go. Keeps the throttle in place and you can rotate your throttle down to release it. Works fantastic. I think they are $28
