Got my 585 cam in the mail today. Gonna put it in over the weekend. Can't wait to see how much it peps the motor up and I hear it will hit a little harder at idle. Will post updates once I have it in. :D

Not really hard, just takes a little time and patience with attention to detail on setting the valve adjustment. There are threads on this forum for the cam and the valve adjustment. Not a very expensive upgrade either if you do it yourself.

How hard is it to install yourself? Thinking of doing something to pep up my 04 Mastiff.
Does your 04 have the 107 or the 117 ? You might want to call S&S with your engine serial number and they can tell you whats in it (cam) and if they did the complete build on the motor. Most of the 04's were before the EPA stuff started hitting and you may have a true non EPA motor with out Big Dog having messed with it.

I actually bought it off Amazon but only because I had a $25 gift card. It came from a dealer. If you google S&S 585V cam you can find plenty of places to get them. I got mine for $163 shipped.

Where did you buy it Al? Been thinking about this upgrade myself.

I have finished the cam install now I just have to adjust the pushrods and that can wait for tomorrow. Thank you Steve for your post as I referred to it a couple of times just to make sure I was on track. :2thumbs: As has been said it's not a hard job just meticulous. I can wait to get them adjusted and get it fired up tomorrow :D

:D:D:D:D WOW!!! It does hit a lot harder at idle and has more crackle as you ease around places. Haven't gotten into it too hard yet to see the increase in low end just yet. The best news is that there are no leaks and the valve train is the quietest it's been, even better than when it was new. I went with the movement method and 3 turns on the pushrods. I would recommend this upgrade to anyone who hasn't already done it. Thanks again to Steve for your post and Phatass for the video on pushrod adjustment. This forum is great!!!
