Just had an S&S 640 cam installed in my 07 K9, That is the best $$ I've spent on this bike!! It blew me away how much more power it has & the sound is wicked!!! Cam & rejetted carb. Now THIS is the way this dog should run!!:up:

Marv, Can't you also put in a colder plug??if highest octane gas is used and still get detonation the options are to lower comp or retard ignition. IMO
i have mine set at 28 degrees at full advanced (3K rpm's)
with the 640 cam it really pulls hard into high rpm's. so with a good valve train, jim's rollers, travel limiters, triple wound springs set for the cam, i'm comfortable raising the limiter to 6500 using the dynatek 2KI ignition

Yeah I should specifiy "on a dyno". I know that when working on EFI in cars on a dyno we (my bud an engine builder) would swap out plugs for help with timing.
5-600 cam and install.What's the average cost on doing something like this?
