Well finally the day has arrived where all the stars have aligned and the WP install is about to happen.
After waiting 8 weeks for the unit to get to Australia and another 12 weeks for my friend to get enough "spare" time to fit me, the K9 is now sitting in his shed ready to go.

Being a firm believer in if it aint fucked don't fix it, i am beging to get butterflies about the install and then Friday last reading that some of the 2012 WP's are failing, did not help.

There does not apear to be anything wrong with the EHC it is just precautionary and a tidy up of the mess of wiring left by the Australian importer's back yard conversion.

Can't wait as the season is upon us for riding here.

Glad to hear the good news. If you dont have an issue be sure to hang on the the original ECH. Take your time with the WirePlus and double check each connection and you should be ready to run for the season!!!

Ingition switch does not fit as stated here and in the installation manual, not even close, many hours of die grinding coming up. Also the use of the original EHC hold down holes will not work..................too bloody big. So some drilling will be needed fo new holes. There is not enough hardware to install WP so ensure you have boxes of bolts and washers to hold units, spade connectors are 5 short, duetze connectors 7 short. However they do have the right amount of cable ties.

The electrical engineer doing my install, can't fully understand how it is written to a point that he is going to re-write it today into english...............double dutch is not a language that we/i recognise, no wonder i was having trouble understanding it.
I will copy it here so other mear mortals can understand it.

Most of the wiring is now completed 20 to go. Plus the tidy up.

Having an issue with the low beam/ high beam and the indicator light not working.
Also the R/H flasher does not want to work.......yet. I did put a new R/H hand control board in with a new brake sensor attached.

Coil cover is now modified to accept the new key switch and the coil moved sideways to miss the back of the key switch.

Update.
Removed coil cover again as plug lead was just touching #1 fins.
All wired up.
No stop lights
No blinkers.
No ignition.
No go.
Just head light and tail light.

Maybe a bad earth, but all wires were tested prior to insertion into plug. all pins soldered and crimped, battery fully charged, switch is working.

24 hrs later and no better, thinking i may have a dud WP.

Try again this afternoon.

It has all tested fine before the plugs were filled with pins and pushed together.
No blown fuses.
No curcit breaker fault.
No wire in the wrong hole.
Batt fully charged.
Tongue in right position of mouth.
Only good quality beer and Bourbon used.
Electrical engineer and mechanical tech doing the work.
All instructions followed, as per Don.

Never touched any of my Harley's, got a Dog cause i wanted something different don't mind tinkering, but boy am i getting pissed with these electricial issues.

Maybe i should have flown Jake over to install my WP.

Thanks to all who PM'd me offering advise, it was 2 of the earths in one of the multi joiners. Did a pull test and out they came dispite being soldered and crimped.

Also for some reason my "Electrical Engineer" had attached a forgotten earth to my Battery box.

#38 is conected, not as stated.

3 of the pins in plug #2 were not seated properly.

However the brake does not appear to have a Brake outlet, it goes into the module and is magicly sent to the blinkers, as it is supposed to as in the US your brake light and rear blinker are the same.
Now i have to dis-conect the brake input and run a relay to my brake light......no biggy.
Now just the tidy up, it looks like someone has got a hand full of spagetti and thrown it into my side cover.

So far it has been 18 hours to install, plus a couple of sleepless nights, but is now done, thank you to all who have sent words of encouragement and ideas, i did say when i joined i would ask a lot of dumb questions.

The dog is now at home sitting on it's mat.
Everything works.
Just a few things to fine tune, the front brake sensor is staying on, so i adjusted it out but it still comes on by it self...............more work required.

And the mess of wires, wow where do i start. I think i will be pulling a lot apart and recrimping them, it really does look like pre school kids have done it, but it works.

Would i do it again.................yes.
Is there anything i would do different............yes..............fly Jake out to OZ for a holiday.
Thanks to all who have assisted with advise, and brake sensor (Dave), Brett for doing the wiring and the use of his shed and equipment, knowledge and having the paitence to put up with me panicing every time he cut a wire.
At least i kept the beer fridge full.

We are having our usual wet season build up................hot and very humid days and rain, lots of rain.
So i thought i would put the new WP to the sword.
3 hours of ridding wet, not a single problem, except she was a very dirty Dog.
No lights went out, no coughing and spluttering, no sitting around with a hair drier.

Very bloody impressed.
For anyone with a WP sitting and waiting..................just do it.
