Still thinking...if you need some inspiration I have to re-mention the M-unit. As far as functionality goes, it was as near perfect as I could imagine. The digital nature was great. WP modules have a slight delay due to design. You notice it with the break lights and blinkers. There is (at least with mine) a slight delay (~20ms I'd guess) when you hit the break before the lights come on. Same for blinkers. It was night and day when I first hooked up the M. The M had an intentional delay on the start button which enabled them to add a double click kill function. I stopped using my run/kill switch and would just double click the start button to kill the motor. The headlight kill during start makes a big diff during cranking. There were other cool things like that but its getting late...lol. The "cool" functions up the complexity so the trade off may not be worth it, but I did really like them. Then again...smoke signals...lol.

There is light at the end of the tunnel ,finally we might not have to worry bout these F ing EHC,as long as is reliable I don't give a ratz azz what tear it is,great idea Kaptain !!

We have gone in a slightly different direction with our module.
Wild Steed Worx's new module is called the 'e-PAK"
The unit will be Plug & Play
The only exception to the "{Plug & Play" will be those with air ride. Air ride equipped BDs will have to purchase the optional harness with three way micro momentary switch and mount. The harness will simply plug into the e-PAK, route around the battery and be mounted in a pre-determined remote location.
We are shooting for a release in the next few weeks and I'll keep it at that.
Sooner...Later its tough to say.
Were working on a couple of space issues and how we want to package it right now.
Most everything else has been worked out.
The first version, if there will even be any other versions remains to be seen, will have all the basic functions as we spoke about before. We are fusing critical links as we feel it is necessary to physically protect the electronics from any possible issue. There will be fused accessory outlets, built in alarm system(shock and motion), adjustable modulating rear brake lights.
We are trying to get the first test unit installed by this weekend.
We are also attempting to integrate the EFI unit with the carbureted unit. However, currently we are stuck on one issue with the EFI portion.
Having said all of the above the first units coming out will be for the 06 through 08-1/2 Big Dog K9, since that is the bike that I have to do R&D on. We say "08-1/2 because the later BDs have an EHC with different connectors and we will have to do some R&D work to verify those connectors, locate the components and then be able to offer the unit. As we don't anticipate large sales volumes of the later models they will be Special Order Only. If there are any BD non-K9 model owners in the San Diego California region that would be willing to assist in the R&D we would be willing to install the unit for those individuals at no charge. Assistance in the R&D would be leaving your ride with WSW for the required amount of time it would take to develop the packaging portion of the unit.

OUTSTANDING! This is great news. "In the next few weeks" is sooner than many could have hoped for. I wish I was closer to you I would definitely volunteer my scoot. I especially like the alarm function. I don't mind people looking but I'm not really into people sitting on it and standing it up off the stand, unless I am there to choke them if they drop it.

You answered your own question, all you have to do is make an EHC that's reliable!!! No point in reinventing the wheel....

I want one that will let the bike run if there is problem in some other circuit. Like the M-unit does. If you have a problem with the turn singles then only the turn singles don't work. Just protection very little or no testing of circuits.
I agree with what bearman said ( I think that any new module should have a connector or set of contacts that would allow you to trouble shoot the individual relays while everything is still hooked up. For example, my ’94 chevy pickup has a open connector under the dash (don’t remember exactly, but about 20 pins), the trouble shooting directions say something like “if your electric fuel pump is not working and you suspect your fuel pump relay to be bad, short pin 1 to pin 17, if your fuel pump comes on then your fuel pump relay is bad, if it doesn’t come on then you have a bad fuel pump”.
I know this would cost more because of the added development costs, but I think this type of easy owner troubleshooting would be worth the extra money. ) I was thinking of making one, mine is a 2004 50 pin connector, a plug with two females and one male so you could test it while hooked to the bike. A cap could be put over the extra female end. Plug and play sounds great. Nothing fancy just reliable!!!

In limbo folks.
I am most of the way through it but have had some equipment issues and other projects that had to be pushed in front of it.
It will get done though as I need it for my own K9.
