New bike few small issues..

New to me 2002 BDM Bulldog.

Turn signals and low/high beams work as should but LED indicators for left turn and high beam do not function.

Also new issue, speedo and odo stopped working a few days ago. Figured I’d start with a new sensor before I started tearing into the wiring and speedo.

I ordered a Thunderheart replacement speed sensor and the unit I got looks identical but has much thinner wires and the wires are in the wrong orientation at the plug even though it’s the same plug as the current sensor.

Advise?

So I pulled the LED indicator housing and probed the connector. It appears I have 12+ For the right turn signal but no power for left turn signal or highbeam indicator

It's creates AC so it flows in either direction. Just plug it in.

May be AC, but it won't work. Ran into this before, and even sent the speedo back, and they said nothing wrong with it. Then I found the wires in the plug were backwards.

I could see a one way diode inside if that's the case. Sacrifice-test the old pins in the connector so you know how to swap pins and not damage the new connector.

1. If I'm hot out of a pin in the black box, would I not pull the connector and see if (+) is at the pin... if applies?
2. Not to back-probe right at the connector's female side, and not remove the connector and the female to wire is the break?
3. Pull the connector and probe from female pin on back, if (+) is at the pin... if applies having power at the pin...

My guess is that you don't have a speed sensor issue. Considering your other failures I would check for bad grounds and ck the EHC connections. A little dielectric grease while your in there.
