New back tire

so I have been away for a while. Trading a vehicle and getting my chopper back. (AIH)

It has the oem 300 rear tire, Metzler.

What brand do y’all think is better? I have been reading that Metzler seems to have gone downhill at some point.

Your preference - I’ve only had Avon’s on my dogs and will continue to use them. Shinko’s are more affordable and some guys run them, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them myself but I haven’t had any issues with the Avon’s.

I'm getting new tires Friday on my K9(still running original venoms) due to age and Andrew Barnes swears by Shinko he also installed shinko on my pitbull last year and he is putting shinko on my K9

How is it wearing? I will mostly be highway. Middle of the Metzler is worn out.

I have no complaints with the Avon's or Metzlers, both wear quite well. I have just over 8K on my Avons, still have a couple K life in them. Sue has Metzlers on her AIH, which have about 5K, plenty of tread left but due to their age I will replace them shortly.

My Metz cracked after 2 yrs, never had any luck with Avon Cobra either, I'm running Shinko now for 1-1/2 yrs, so far so good.

I bought a new Metz 300m last may. I live in Ohio only rode about 2k miles max. Last October I had to start putting air in it every 3/4 days. The side walls are cracked. The dealer is fighting with them but it sounds like I am fucked. Gonna try the sink if Metz won't replace it.

I have a set that is about 7 years old and look new.

My Avon's only lasted 4200 miles.
I have always used Metz on other bikes,smaller size tho. They have lasted well over 11k miles. Really disappointed in the 300 Metz.

You're Avon Venom's seemed to have longevity..

I have always used Metz on other bikes,smaller size tho. They have lasted well over 11k miles. Really disappointed in the 300 Metz.

We run metzlers on the Harleys and get close to 15, 000 miles. Hard to figure out why the 300 sizes wear so quick. Not much difference in the bike weights either

I prefer to say mine lasts years instead of how much mileage is on them. So like I have 2 years on my 300 Shinko and it still looks new

As far as I know it should of came with a 250. Mine did.
