I just got my Big Dawg from my father-in-law. Its a 1999 Prosport with 517 miles on a 107 S&S motor. He got hurt after he bought it, so it has only started for years up until about 5 years ago. I was able to get it to turn over with a new battery, fresh gas, and some mystery oil on top the pistons. It ran fine for a few minutes then it started to shoot oil out by the carburetor. Since then, I have checked all the oil lines and changed the oil and filter and I still have the same result.

I am guessing that there is some thing at the oil fitting that is stopping the oil from returning from the engine. Any ideas or comments would help. I am new to cruisers and I really like this bike. Not to mention my wife is getting on me for spending money on the bike and doesn't understand that I am trying to save this S&S motor. So I need to get this fixed soon or she is going to cut off the money and I will have to sell it.

I too have a 2000 Pro Sport when my bike has not been ridden for some time oil comes out of a vent line from the crank case where the oil has drain down from the moter. Bowhunter use to own a 99 bulldog and his crank case vent spit oil of his breather I know if this is your issue not.

I have this same condition on my 01 boxer where breather is leaking oil ..what causes this and how can it be fixed?

stock s&s the air filter is always drenched with oil at the bottom and seems to spit or spray out onto the chrome valve covers always wiping oil off this thing
