Alrighty, I got tired of no neutral light on the Chopper. Ordered a new neutral switch from HDM. Did a test to see if it worked before installation. Worked perfect. After installing, every gear but neutral lights up? What the crap did I screw up now? Tested the old switch and yeah, its dead. Im cornfused.....wheres my Unicorn?

Jump the wires the switch plugs into to see if the neutral light lights. If not your bulb could be broken or wiring at the light bulb is hosed check for voltage at the light with the 2 wires jumped at the switch plug.

Okay. I revisited the old sensor. Cleaned top posts and plugged it in. Out of the bike, it works as it should. Push in the ball, light comes on. Installed in the bike, I got Nothing. No light in any gear. Im @ a loss here....

Edit: alrighty, these are opposite switches. Old one, ball pushes in lights neutral. New switch, ball pushs in, light goes OUT. HMMM....

I'm pretty sure now that I think about its the switch they sent is opposite from what you need...I had this issue with the Ultima on ole blue...I had to use the baker sensor instead of the Ultima sensor that came with the transmission because they are reversed in how they work as in the ball in or out to activate the light

From what I watched in a video that Curtis put out. The transmission has a dip where neutral is. So the ball falls in the dip and the switch turns on the light.
Assuming you have the correct sensor. Lol. Today I learned the switches are different even tho they appear the same. This is the new one, black top. It powers on when the ball is depresed. The original has a white top. It works the way you describe. So, for anyone needing to change theirs, take note. The other difference is the color. New is bronze, old is silver.

FYI, my experience.. so lost neutral signal.. 04 Bulldog
IIRC I removed switch when changing the starter.. Well after fiddling around i removed the sensor gasket and that was enough to get it lower and functioning again .. Haven't had any seepage issue.

Ive played with the old one after cleaning it and it "working" again. It has 3 gaskets under it. Nothing changes by adding or removing gaskets. @ least not yet. Gotta call into HDM. Hopefully we can get it sorted out and I can find the proper sensor. If not....

Im thinking about the N1 but in the meantime Linda @ Baker got me squared away. "Make sure its in neutral, loosen the top cover and move it around till the light comes on". Spot on fix. I didnt know there was that much play in the cover but it works.
