Neutral Light is intermittent

Can anyone give me a sequence to diagnose my Neutral Light issue? Sometimes it works and sometimes not. I have checked the connection on top of the tranny, cleaned it, and used a small amount of contact grease. Of course it worked until we went to ride, and then quit. This is on my wifes 2005 Chopper and she fully relies on it.:argue: Thanks!

Many posts on this here. Next time it goes out twist the connection on top of the tranny, if it comes back on then you found your issue. If not then you need to trace the wire from there up through the backbone and see if it's grounded somewhere. I had the same issue with my oil pressure lit and found grounded wires under the tank. That's when I shrinkwrapped everything.



Oh, I've posted pictures of my neutral switch before to show it with the top of the black piece filled with RTV sealer to keep water out of it.
