Need to replace or rebuild my forks?

I found that my right shock is bad, it rattles my entire bike when I hit anything in the road. Sad thing is that my left shock was a issue and after so many hours of getting it fixed, the other one went bad. I only put maybe 50 miles on my bike total since I found it leaking, it must of made the other one work hard enough to break the seals. I think I just want to replace them both, anyone have any idea what I should do? If I replace them, should I go longer or what options do I have that would be best and where can I get them? I found a set for 250 by my house but they are out of stock. Fun!

Just try and replace the fork bushings, seals, and fork oil. 41mm kit is about $60. Take the path of least resistance. Why spend money if you don't have to. Not hard to do. Alot of times the set screw that holds the lower tree bolt backs out and the lower tree bolt loosens. This will make your lower tree separate from the neck. That causes the rattle with your forks. Tighten that down to the proper fall away and you should be good. If the forks are damaged, then that's a different story.

Didnt you drill a hole through your lower leg into the oil reservoir....is the rattle from that side and did the fluid leak out again ?

I had a pin size hole in my fork leg when I tried drilling out a broken bolt that the previous owner red loctited on. Plugged it with JB weld and its been fine....

Are you saying the fork tube is loose in the trees or the lower leg? I'm guessing you mean the lower leg (slider) that would mean new bushings and a complete rebuild kit. Check your manual and it will show you all the parts needed.
Seals, o-rings, upper and lower bushings etc.

The fork that is bad is the one that I hadn't touched, it is ok in the trees, it is loose at the bottom, I can make it move. I don't mind replacing them because of some small scratches caused by someone else. I was told at a shop by me that I can't replace any parts on my forks. Fun, I so want and need to ride right now! I think everyone is at the Easy Rider Show today which I will have to drive to! That sucks!
