Need to know all 2007 Big Dog K9 common problems and recalls before my warranty is up

Hello everyone. Can you guys please tell me all the common problems and recalls for the 2007 Big Dog K9, as I am taking my k9 to the dealer for recalls and recommended fixes before my warranty is up. Here is what I know so far: New side panel mounts are needed to prevent them from cracking; Recall on rear fender bolts. My speedometer fogs and gets moisture on the lens--does Big Dog have a fix for this? What about my voltage regulator? What else should I have the dealer check, repair, and/or repalce under warranty or by recall? I'm sure this thread will be helpful to other less experienced K9 owners like myself. Thanks so much for your help, and ride safely--Brock.

Be sure to get your side covers checked for cracked mounts. Let me know how you fare with the speedo. I spoke to BDM a couple of months ago and they said they were working on a gortex plug but that it wasn't ready yet.

You may want to also do a search under the NHTSA Recalls and get a list of what recalls apply for your BD to make sure that they have been covered. Also if there is a recall that applies, the warranty doesn't matter, now if there is technical service bulletins (TSB) they may apply or not, however different than recall and are designed to address problem if problem arise and may not be covered out of warranty.

If you are the orginal owner, you should have been getting recall notice anyway from BDM, but regardless if you did or di not, recommend to check the NHTSA and know what may be of question.

Last but not least, while it is in for service request and get a copy of the EHC download for your records also.

Good luck and hope everything goes well and there is no prolonged down time.

You better get it in and get everything documented that way after the warranty is up you have it on file.....:2thumbs:

My dealer was pretty good about anything that was a warranty issue. I will ask them about the moisture problem...in the speedo...I get that too...I can't recall anything else that you did not mention.* It's all good I think...

I bought my 07 K9 with about 780 miles; I've got a bit over 4k on it now and the only issue I had when I got it was a leaking front brake caliper. My local dealer fixed it right up with no drama. (actually excellent customer service - Twin Specialties shout out)

I know that a couple recall items were taken care of before I got it (fender strut bolts or some such) but I haven't had any serious issues/concerns with it. Runs great and hasn't left me stranded.:2thumbs:

PurpleDog, what symptoms were you having with your front caliper? Just fluid loss? Any noise?
