Need Starter relay BD4120-1

Hi guys I'm looking for a relay if anyone has one to sell. Had a wire break on it and looks like I'm just going to have to replace it.

You could carefully pick away at the epoxy and resolder the wire back together. Might take some time though.

That was my thought also. I believe it could be done, and then put some epoxy back around the splice. (after testing it ) One other point use rosin core and not acid core solder.

If that wire is hot I wouldn't bother and just replace it.

Do what you want, it's your bike. I'm just saying, what have you got to lose? Maybe an hour or so? If it was mine I'd be soldering on it!

Yeah. That's what I did. Dug out as much wire as I could and put it back together. It feels like it's holding well so I'll hook it back up and try it out.

Hot or not that does not matter. What matters is if you got a good solder point and some heat shrink, then epoxy'd back down. Glad you fixed it. Regardless if it does it again you where only out some time, however it feels so much better when you do it yourself.

Well I still can't get it to crank. I think it worked though. When I unhook it from where it plugs into the motorcycle and then try to start, the light does come on but the bike does nothing.
I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas? I might just have to take it in to the shop.

Check the green female connector on the starter solenoid for voltage when you hit the starter button. Something else you might check is the little wires inside the solenoid, mine had one broken and Mr. Wright solved the problem for me. Soldered it back together and no problems since.

Ok thanks. I did have to splice the green wire. But I'll try to open it and see what it looks like

More specific.. I spliced the green wire going to the ignition. The little green one. Not the green one that plugs into the starter

Mine did the same thing turned out to be ehc. It had power did everything but would not turn over

I used wires plus system but to my understanding the one from wildsteedworx is a better fit hope that helps. It's not a cheap fix unfortunately if that's your problem

You could run 12volts to the green wire that goes to the starter solenoid and see if the starter works just fine. If that works then it is something else, EHC or even the starter switch...

if ti's not too late,,,my EHC on my 02 is under the Speedometer(console),,,when depressing the start button do you hear a faint click from under the tank area,,may just need a starter relay(auto parts store)....I am by no means a mechanic,,,have been through it.....

No click or anything. Using my light tester I have power coming from the start button, the small green wire. but I have no power, light doesn't come on, when I unplug the cable going to the starter and push the start button with the tester on it.
Hope this makes sense.. the bike ran fine until I put the seat back on and broke that red wire.. It just doesn't make sense why I have power from the ignition if solder didn't work..
Maybe I'll just replace the relay and find out
