Im trying to look all over the internet to see the max horsepower and final reduction ration for a 2006 big dog k-9 with a 117 S&S. Im trying to get my bike register in Japan and now im down to this information plus rear turning signals that would iluminate yellow once the turning signal is engage. Does anyone have any info on the specs and where I could order such turning signals. Once again thanks for all the help.

If ya got to have red runnin lights an brakes. Sound like you will have to set up something seperate from the signals and do some different wiring.

Yea thats what im looking at right now, installing some ambers LEDs in conjunction with my current turn signals. Still looking for the max horsepower and final reduction ratio from sprocket. Anyone have any clue about this.

you can get the tail light internals form big bear in australia or maybe even in the usa that flash amber , or even the internals from harley that are in the new sportsters ,they have a three in one indicator as well , good luck

You'll likely get many different HP numbers; average them or pick one. It seems unlikely they are going to Dyno your bike, if they do then you'll know the real answer...:D

Stock - 88 HP / 100 lb ft

So if I understand your needs on the turn signals, is just a yellow turn and a red stop, right?

UPDATE: Just thought of something... I'm not sure but BDM may run the BRAKE and TURN signals using the same signal TURN wire because there is no separate wire for brake indicator. You may want to test for this first before you buy. If this is the case then the additional YELLOW LED turnsignals are the only resolve.

There are separate ground, turn and taillight wires at the rear lights. You could just mount a small separate set of YELLOW LED turns and rewire the factory turn wire to them with the ground.

OR

find those special LED taillights with yellow turns and red stop LED's, mentioned in above post.

I believe Canada has the same tail light requirements, I remember seeing a Dog with a double stack of tail lights one red, one amber. I found the thread but the picture is no longer there. But the thread above has a better solution.

To calculate final drive ratio, first take the primary:

Engine Crank sprocket = 29 tooth
Clutch sprocket = 43 tooth

43 / 29 = 1.48:1 (2 decimal)
43 / 29 = 1.482:1 (or 3 decimal))

Then calculate the drive pulleys:

Transmission 34 tooth sprocket.
Rear drive pulley 65 tooth.

65 / 34 = 1.91:1 (2 decimal)
65 / 34 = 1.911:1 (or 3 decimal)
-----------------------------------

1.91 x 1.48 = 2.826:1 final drive ratio. (2 decimal calc)
1.911 x 1.482 = 2.832:1 final drive ratio. (3 decimal calc)

------------
To arrive at your answer: 2.83:1 Final drive.

Although, I suspect you could have just written a reasonable figure down; it's unlikely there is HP and drive ratio police in Japan ....:D
