Ok guys, I'm calling on your vast bottomless pit of knowledge here. I've got a new paint job coming up, and I need a little help. A buddy of ours has asked me to paint him some SS stripes on his bike. They're gonna be tweeked just a bit - not going crazy on this one. My problem is this... I only ever did one SS paint job while at BDM, so I never thought to write down the measurements of the actual stripes. How wide are they? How wide is the space between them? On a job like this, an off measurement will be really obvious. Anybody got a paint job like this? I have not disclosed the owner because he may change his mind again. YOU know who you are! Just kidding!!!

Ed, that is the exact paint job on the tins that I sold to Rob (BorgerBigDog) - He should be able to help you out.

I will measure the dimensions this evening when I get home - you may want to think about some alternatives as well - maybe a little thinner stripe would look better?? The paint job on mine gets a lot of compliments from those who like the racing stripe look - I personally go back and forth on how much I like the look and width of the stripes. I will send the data later and look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Damn it Ray you better not put those stripes on your bike!
Who...... me????? I'm not putting them on mine. I going with a pin up girl on the tank and maybe some gold leafing/scroll work.

Rob, that won't be nessessary. I just need some measurements: how wide are the stripes themselves, and how wide is the space in between them. I can ad-lib the rest.

quick question. well first let me start off by giving u your props, becuase i have searched
the internet and the paint shops around where i live and u r certainly one of the most
talented guys i have ever seen. alot of people air brush but there lines look soft like cartoon characters. But your r really sharp n crisp. what a real lost for big dog.
n e way for a mastiff am i too asume that to paint the tank and two fenders that it is
around 5 to 6000. just curious on a budget.

Hey str8jakit, no probably not that high. I have done jobs that have gone that high, but most of my jobs are in the 2-3 G range. It just depends on how crazy you (and your pocketbook) want to go!

well i know that it sounds crazy saying my pocket book is not that crazy when i own a 30,000 bike but trust me wit the wife and the kidz i got to give her that puppy dog look every time i want to purchase somethingfor the bike. i bought a blk bike and i hate it. but thats all they had at the dealer. I wanted that candy looking red but no luck so im stuck wit this color and it shows all the little scatches from my seat and my wife seat. really fustrating so i need some graphics bad wit a good gloss because the gloss bigdog put is way too thin at lease on my bike it is. so was that clown considered crazy money wise?
