Need some help/advice w/ my 04 Ridgeback

My bike has been running fine for the past 2 months. Last week when leaving the gym my Ridgeback would not start. Everytime I press the start button all I would hear is a single "CLICK". After push starting my bike I shut it down and tried the starter and the damn thing fired right up:angry:. It worked fine for the remainder of the week and now is doing it again:angry:. I push start it and shut it down and it will usually fire up 2 to 3 times before getting the "CLICK".

Any suggestions as to what it could be?
I read the post from "MOESPEED" about "what to do if the starter wont turn" and I am going try that this evening.
Any experience or suggestions will help me and I thank everyone in advance.
Trying to get this bike running before Red River, NM. Memorial weekend rally!

Do what MoeSpeeds suggested -

I got a feeling your starter is just on the way out you can have one ordered an easily installed prior to Memorial Day weekend.

Saw a brand new Starter on FleaBay for $150 Shipped for the 04's. I was going to scoop it up but I realized that the shop I bought my bike from must have put on a 2kw Starter. Slightly different shape and I dont want to have to buy 2 different slam buttons.

more likely bad battery and or loose connections, a very large amount of everyones problems end up being the battery, or bad connection. If battery is more then 3 years old most likely need new, are you keeping it on a battery tender. my bike did same and it was battery. also may want to take back off starter and clean up contacts.

Wired brushed my battery terminals and all the connections and still same problem but I will try the same to the connections on the starter. Thanks

The rebuild kit you sent the link to will work on my BD?
Looks the same as mine 08 K9 has, only the "plunger return spring" seems to be missing from the picture.
Be sure to disconnect the battery before even thinking of opening the solenoid!
contacts inside are “hot”, and will melt that said spring even in lightest contact!
