Need some friendly help !!

Well I had a angel looking over my shoulder yesterday !!! I was riding and hit a bump in the road and felt something in my grips like someone had hit my forks with a sledgehammer... Steering was tight and didn't feel right.. Pulled over and started to inspect and found that my Triple Tree Stem had snapped in two.. My lower triple tree had slipped forward about 1/2 and inch and my steering stop was outside of my neck as well..Like I said I had a angel looking over my shoulder :2thumbs:

Going to start going through the breakdown today but I know as of now im going to need a new stem and maybe a new top tree if the threads are all jacked up and also a fork stop. Also going to do all new races and bearings as well.. seen all the post about accutronix trip trees and those are great but heard about all the probs some have with different spacing and what not.. Thought about going to a American Suspension D9 Black Dragon as well.. But I think for now just going to get it back on the road..

That angel wasn't looking over your shoulder, he was holding up the front end!!! Close call bro.... pm bigdogpartsking. I'll bet they can find ya what ya need.

:2thumbs::2thumbs: You are the Man. Can't we all grow up and get along? We need different talents for different issues to keep our Dogs in tip top shape. So what if some things overlap. That's my opinion. I'd send you my starter for a rebuild in a second if it needed it unless I tackle it and I know you won't hold it against me when I fix my own bike! Finally, if you didn't let us know their phone number, I for one would not know it so I can buy stuff from them when needed.

Thanks guys... Donna @ Bigdogpartsking was able to help me out with the stem and after some research. I found out that the parts from a 05 will fit as well.. But BDM performance is all out of the part I am still in need of....

Still need a STEERING STOP PLATE !!!! it shows it only comes in a kit but I would like to find the plate all by itself.... or can I buy a aftermarket one to replace it ???

Haha.. yeah ... well it was in Niles leaving Bike Town Harley Davidson.... And I have heard alot of people complain about that road.. We just left Quaker Steak and i felt something in my handle bars like something it my forks.. Stopped at the light about 1/8 mile from where i felt it and my buddy yelled he needed gas.. shot right across the street and then found out the results... Needless to say I was very very lucky and thanked my buddy for needing gas.. We were about 1/2 mile from jumping on the freeway and ripping it to avoid a storm rolling in !!!

Well my hats off to HMAN on here for hooking me up with a part that is hard to find and not charging me for neither the part or shipping !!! Also to BigDogPartsKing for getting my part here quickly... I was able to get everything installed and back on the road as of friday night and did not miss a charity bike ride I was planning on attending.. A HUGE THANKS to everyone one this site !!!!
