Very unlikely to get that out without breaking paint.

I had something similar years ago, and used a stud gun, and dent puller, then body worked and repainted

Well dont know if this will help you or not....before this idea i giving you its best to clean the tank properly...but i have taken a old fuel cap and welded a air hose fitting on it and hooked a valve onto it so i could control the air...took the petcock out and put a cap fitting on the tank....heated the dented area with a heat gun from a distance so not to damage the paint, in some cases it didnt matter cause paint was already screwed, and once i started getting it a little warm i would start putting air in the tank....less heat the better in some case...ive had good success with this if the tank hasnt got a crease from the accident

Sorry i hadnt got back to ya sooner...i will have to look but i think i loaned it out and never got it back but let me look...with that being said u got to be careful doing this cause u can blow the tank up with to much air....there is a fine line to pressurizing a thin wall tank..

When kids we used to fix dents on moped tanks by filling them with rice and adding water you just have to be quick not to rip the whole tank to pieces.

it might be a little bit safer to fill the tank with water if you plan to pressurize it. we had a 33,000 gallon rail car tanker rupture during a hydro test. flooded the entire shop, but if it had just air pressure it would have completely leveled the building and several homes in the area. Stay safe !
