That's the starter relay.
They also have a electrical control module too, but BDM called it an EHC in their wiring diagrams. It pre-dates the use of the EHCs with the LEDs.

Damn! Your situation sucks, bro! Can think of nothing to add that hasn't already been said. Except, next time you loose your keys, all you probably have to do is go to a dealer to get a new one. Not sure about your model or year, but I've lost two keys on my 06 K9. Turns out, according to my dealer, all 06 K9s only have 10 different key selections. My key # is imprinted on the top of the key itself. When I lose one, I just go get another. And if I didn't have a key, the same key # is also imprinted on the ignitiion key hole. Know this doesn't help at the moment, but maybe in the future...Let us know how it turns out!!!

I would be very careful not to start throwing parts at your bike.

I know it is frustrating, but if it was fine before you did the stuff you did, odds are pretty good it is something simple that got overlooked. You can spend a ton of time and money guessing electric.

Sometimes, if you step back for a day it all comes together.

Just my 2 cents and I truely hope you get it figured out soon.

Dozer, the early 03's had generic ignitions in them that didn't have key codes. So if you lost your keys, you were SOL. I actually went round and round with a dealer until I contacted BD and they told me that. Fortunately, the new ignition DOES have a key code which I will be storing in a safe place for future issues.
Mcgroom, I have been through everything for over a week now, and after the discussion on here and testing the starter relay for voltage, I can only deduce that the starter relay is bad. I have good voltage going in, but nothing coming out.
And yes Dead, that is exactly what I need.

That is incorrect Dead. In fact, the exact opposite. I have a solenoid button, which when pushed does currently turn the starter. Other then that, I have no power anywhere else. New HD battery.

Now I'm confused! Earlier in this post you said you only had four wires after I asked about the three pin connector but now your saying you need the part that's in DO's photo which shows four wires AND the three pin connector?

Something tells me that you need to step back, take a deep breath, then look at your bike with fresh eyes... After all, if you don't have that connector plugged in you won't have power to anything just as you've stated is the case.

DR. When I originally was describing the part, I missed the tiny negetive terminal wire. But that is the part I am talking about.

Then it may "NOT" be the starter relay!

Let's double check. :2thumbs:

1) Even "if" the battery is new, have it load tested to make damn sure it's ok.

2) Check and double check that "ALL" battery connections are clean and making "GOOD" connection.

3) Jump out the ignition switch first between pins 1 & 2 on the module side of the connector, and see if this gets things working. Pin #3 will still need to be connected. :2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

4) If not, jump this out (See pic. below) and report back as to what happens. Should crank if this is jumped, but it shouldn't start.

And "if" you jump it to the Orange wire, directly to the left of #3, NOT right #2, other items should be able to be energized "IF" the starter relay is BAD!

I hope I can repay you all some day for being patient with me. I suck SERIOUSLY at electrical. But you all walked me through it logically and patiently. I seriously thank you guys.
