i went for a ride today and the dog started right up and idle was fine went for ride of about 30 miles and stopped for about 5 minutes then started the dog again and it started idling high at around 1500 to 2000 rode it again for about 40 miles and let the Dog set for a few hours and then started it back up again and it started at the regular idle speed then after it warmed up it started idling high again. so my question is why would it start idling hi after it has been running great and what do i do to fix it. i have read all the post on idling adjustments and was just wondering if any one knew why my idle would run high all the sudden. I hope every one is having a great weekend and looking forward to some help

If you have done the normal checks of the cables and lubrication of the cables to make sure nothing is sticking and checked your vent hoses for damage or leaks then I would be leaning towards maybe an intake leak.
Bike idles fine when cold but once it heats up it starts idling higher.
Motor heats up, things expand, leaks may occur.
Run the motor until it is idling high and then spray a little WD40 around the intake gaskets and the carb adapter gaskets.
If you get sputtering e.t.c. then you have an intake leak at that location.
