My 04 Pitbull keeps leaving me stranded, keeps starving for fuel. Have to let it sit for a bit then switch to reserve and I am atleast able to get home. Any help would be great, if anyone has had these issues or any ideas on what the problem could be. That would be fantastic.

And before anyone ask does it have gas, the tank is full.:2thumbs:

Try loosening the gas cap to make sure that the vent is working, (could be the gas cap) next drain tank and remove petcock and inspect the screen.
That's where I would start

Also check for loose bits of liner. I found three large potato chip size pieces floating around in mine. Do a search here. There are several threads about gas caps. The vents seem to plug up on them.

Loosen the cap next time it happens see if you hear a vacuum or just loosen it and see if it clears up.

Just a note , if your running a clear fuel line, I ran into one a couple months ago that had srunk up like heat srink tubing in the middle, shuting off the fuel flow.

I have an 05 pit bull, and I experienced a similar issue. I tried to open the gas tank to look and it was so tight I had to go home and use a large pair of pliers(with rag to prevent scratching of course). You could hear the vacuum release. I wiped it out and cleaned it up. After reinstalling it I made sure not to tighten it too much. No problems since. That would be a good place to start and then I agree check the screen.

:flag:What they said...

And if that doesn't do it pull the carb and check the Float Valve Needle.
Had to replace mine (and the seat) as it was sticking closed and starving the carb.

Happy Motoring!
