NEED HELP REMOVING TANKS ON 05 PITBULL

Energy One
I am changing my bars so need to get under tank to unplug handlebar controls. I see the rubber mounted bolts under the front of tank but there has to be more, and what about the center dash, how does that come off, if it needs to...never done it before so looking for advice..thank chris

The center dash needs to be removed. Remove the bolt at the bottom of the dash and the annunciator bolt that will remove the dash. Under the dash you will see the bolts that hold the tank to the frame if I remember correctly there are 2 at the bottom and there are 2 at the top of the tank. You will also need to remove the bolts on the bottom of the front of the tank. I have pics of you need them

if you have pics i would really like to see them, what is meant by annunciator bolt also? and thanks for your help..chris.

The dash is mounted to that bracket in front on top and also to that bracket in the back.
Once that is removed your tank is mounted to the frame . See the holes on the back of the frame.

thank you,, so helpful. kinda looks like a pain in the ass but at least thanks to you i know what needs to be done..chris

Well after reading this , you should not have to remove the tanks at all. The wires are all under your dash, just remove the rear bolts on the tanks and loosen the front to get play in the tanks to access the throttle and idle cables

There are two Allen screws under the front of the dash. Take them out. The rear of the dash is held down by a pin that goes through a grommet. Push down on the dash and push it forward and it will pop off. All of the wiring is under the dash.
