Need help figuring out electrical problem

I had a really unusual situation happen to a new car battery. It was really dead and when I connected it to the charger it would not indicate that it was charging. I think that the charger did not trigger on because it did not see the battery as a load. After using two separate chargers I connected it to my car with jumper cables and the cars charging system had enough ass to raise the battery voltage enough to allow the charger to work after about 15minutes on the jumper cables. This may be typical of electronic chargers. I got to do this because my 2014 C7 Vette draws power like an EHC when it is turned off. I found out the hard way.

Update: Issue Resolved, I was very fortunate to get some local help from "Brew" who is also a member in WA state. Turns out my issue was simply battery related all my other systems were verified to be functioning properly. My original battery was an original BDM battery and this being the case it was on its last leg when I first started having a problem. Turns out the new battery I ordered was a bad battery (probably has a bad cell). The new battery when fully charged was only reading 11.9 volts. I had charged my old battery and it was reading 12.7 volts right before T/S. Hooked this battery up verified voltages, turned the key on headlight and indication lights lit up, all indications were normal. Tried to start it and it fired right up.

Needless to say I ended up feeling very humble and kind of like a dumbass. I thought my original battery was old and bad and then didn't realize that the new battery I bought was a bad battery. I have definitely learned allot throughout this issue. I am happy it was an easy fix. Brew gave me the part number for a good battery to get, I picked one up, charged it up, installed it and now I'm ready to get back on the road.

By the way I sure wish we could get them BDM batteries today. His battery was 10 years old and it still cranked the scoot over. The volts did drop a bit but barely enough to start it. I brought my back-up battery just in case...

Makes u feel any better I thought for sure my ignition module was going out on me and my k9 sat for 4 weeks before I checked my gas.. was out of gas and somehow my trip got reset so I thought I still had 100 miles to go he fore refueling.. pulled over at a gas station while wife loaded up trailer to come get me, her Durango was low on fuel so we filled it up once we loaded my bike...

Alicias bike is a 2009 nightster I just replaced the original Harley battery this year (still held a charge and worked perfectly) I only changed as its now 8yrs old and didn't want to catch shit if it went bad,,, that's why I went with a HD battery in the pitbull

That little thing? Probably smash a few rocks together to get a big enough spark to start that thing ...lol

Just bought a new Walmart battery $46 with tax. Got $12 back for the old one.

She said sure two of them right over there. I said no. Check the date. It was 10 years old. She said I have two of the exact same battery but we can't guarantee it will last as long.
I payed twice as much for the new battery. So we shall see.

I was at a light on the way to work and it just died.. started right back up and then died after about 5 minutes and did that a few times.. at first I thought it was my coil breaking down on me.. then started fishing at the nose cone for heat to lead me to believe it was the ignition module getting hot and breaking down.. I still don't know how the trip got reset and was only showing about 40 miles.. so yeah... fun

And as far as that nightster goes.. yeah I think that thing don't require much power, HD batteries are dub manufactured by a bidding game like Kenmore for sears.. so some might be ac Delco and others are whoever has a good bid out there..

The org battery is still in my 2008 softail deluxe and it looks brand new and starts fine. Now that I've said that out loud it will probably croak this weekend...

I pulled a 7 year old Harley battery out of a bike, several years ago, and still using it for my bench battery. Can't remember the last time I charged it.
