trans was rebuilt by baker at about 14k. my main shaft broke at 7k. bigdog replaced the entire transmission under warranty. 7k later I was having transmission noise. pulled and sent to baker. said the inside looked brand new. I explained that it was fairly new. they determined one bearing to be defective so offered to rebuild the whole thing for the cost of parts only... about $80 I think.
Anyway, bottom line is I have about 14k on this transmission. guests it's possible bearings again. I've put about 1,000 miles on since first noticing the noise. it doesn't seem to be getting worse. any harm in continuing to ride it? I ride year round but obviously a lot less in winter.
I had a mechanic narrow the noise last time using a add stethoscope. Is that the best way? can I buy a mechanics stethoscope at a parts store? Maybe that isn't needed. ok I'll stop chattering. Thanks for your help
