i am running a spike air cleaner on my 04 so i have the breathers hanging,i hate the smoke at idle ,not much smoke just dont like it,thinking of cutting them off leaving short piece of tube, drilling the elbow and adding to nipples and running hoses so it reathes back into the air cleaner, what do you guys think?will it work?thanks for your feedback if i get any:lol:

Lots of threads on this here already, search "oil catch cans". I believe in using the hose and routing it into the aircleaner/manifold. Many on here like to vent them to the bottom of the bike. In my experience it just makes a mess. Problem is the 04 and older bikes just plain blow a lot of oil. I could never control it with my 03. The newer breather systems used on the 05 and newer bikes eliminates this.

I've posted some trick pictures from some of the show bikes using liquor bottles (airline type) as catch cans routed in from the breather lines.

Oh, your bike came stock without those breathers and used a hose system that was routed to the aircleaner for a clean setup.

thanks kaptain and ray,i know my bike came that way,i quess i was just tryn to see what ya'll thought about drilling the elbow and such.kinda like the clean look with no hose but like said i hate the smoke.after reading the s/s link i think i might just go with the crankcase breather,i already have it hooked up with a can and filter, thanks again:cheers:

I'm running head and crankcase breathers on my 2004 107". Have a DM carb mount that ports the heads to the intake (built in) and a filtered line from the bottom breather.

thanks chacha,i think im either going to change out my bracket or just go with the crankcase breather and block off the heads.:)
