Ok first why are you yelling= all CAPS.

There is not a way unlock the S&S EFI/VFI module.

You can buy the "off road" unlocked modules though from time to time for a couple hundred.

If you purchase an UNLOCKED ECM from S&S, make absolutely sure you DO NOT load it with the same EFI map file as what you are currently running or you will LOCK the new box as well.

Sorry, you might be right... I´ve got not a clue about EFI systems but I thought it could be a good reading for the ones interested in the subject... and link #2 is from S&S itself so...

Oh well, WTF I know... lol

I think I have the hardware part sort of figured out. Software? I'll reversengineer this as I did the hardware.

It goes something like this. I need to tell the software to work the hardware and find this file. How to find the file is well, I have to start from 0 and work my way back.

I flash a map alone, no pig like an ss-kit, pwrcomder, squirtitty, or any other type pig that captures data output, the pig grabs that input and renters a number and this sets the duty cycle or how long the injector stays on. How big did you make the jet hole change via electrical time on and time off of the faucet.

Where are the basics to the software and I'll reset it. /*said his notes as he writes the code and hacks into the basic moves the software is handcuffed to*/ <<<< See this 'comment' in code?

Matt should scream the basics as if to step on every leg off that timer in the hardware part of it. I have 4 kills off that bike or resets:

1. Battery post.
2. Kill switch.
3. Key switch.
4. Trigger at the E-box is the same as saying I just touched 4 inputs to RESET to 0000-0000.

It walks as it talks. I now dumpee basic down the wall was write my name on it here in code.

F.Y.I,

Now, enter the friendly EPA for a second time around. These Adaptive Maps have a limit on them too. The EPA's restrictions are that the Adaptive Maps can only move around 28% from the Base Fuel Map. That sounds like a lot and in some cases it is. But, add more compression and a more aggressive cam to the non-stock exhaust and air cleaner you already have, and the Adaptive Maps will 'Limit Out' and your Check Engine Light will come on. The light is telling you that the engine wants more fuel in a certain area (throttle position/rpm).

From Neil (Nomad2day) in Tenn:
"More extensive modifications that change the power output of the engine by more than about 20% require a new base map. I would think that you should be able to do some things to wake up your bike within those parameters and it learn and compensate for it. How big of a cam, I don't know but it would not take much to wake one up and get it off the porch."

"CLOSED LOOP VFI... can automatically compensate for the following
modifications as long as the change in horsepower output is less than about 20%. ■ Displacement ■ Cam change* ■ Exhaust change* ■ Head Porting or aftermarket heads ■ Gear ratio * It should be noted that the cam and exhaust system must be appropriate for the displacement, compression ratio, and intended use of the engine. No amount of tuning will entirely correct for a poor cam and exhaust choice."

Can I do it myself with your help since I live in Australia or do I have to send it to you?

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately you would have to send it to me here at Kansas Motorcycle Works to unlock it. I would be happy to do it. I will talk with Matt Moore and see what we would need to do since your located in Australia. Feel free to call me here in the states at 316-312-3357. Hope to be able to help you out soon.

Best regards,
Jason
