need advise-please

I thought the cam sensor was gone so I just replaced it and still no red light on the ignition module and it turns but doesn't start.

When I turn on the key I get a yellow light on the ehc and a blinking green and when I push the run button I get a red but nothing on the thunderheart ignition module. Im going to look and see if I can find a bad wire but as far as I know there okay,

Any one have a solution please advise?:angry:

I am considering it now ,lol

I thought it was the cam sensor seeing how it had a crack in it . I need to try to find out if it has power going to the module and if so it will probably be it?

I spoke with Larry over at Thunderheart he said he could test it for me but if I had power going to the module then that would be it but Im trying to find out where and how to test if I have power going to the module or not.

Do you have the newer style EHC on your 04?

yes got the 18 led ehc , the red light on the ehc goes when you depress the run button but not on the module and starter turns

Well thats a good thing it lights up. Test power going to the module as DB put in your 2nd post.

Also, another thing is are you sure your cam sensor is in the correct spot. If I'm not mistaken if you are out of time your igntion module won't light up even if you have power. I've never tried on the thunderheart so I'm not 100% sure. DB may know?

Even if the timing is off (cam sensor in the wrong position) the ignition module should still light up. It'll even fire the spark plugs when you turn it over... but at the wrong time. As a matter of fact if it's too far advanced it can give you a kick back that's real tough on the starter amongst other things!

Out of curiousity... how did you determine the position of the new cam sensor?

no light on sensor at all and I put the new sensor in exactly the same way the old one was , they were marked with magic marker . and the slot in the disk is lined up with the first notch from the left. I believe that to be right also I imagine I can check power coming from the sensor by unplugging the plug coming from the sensor as well?

Hey Marc, PM me your address and I will send you an ignition module that another member sent me for testing. As far as I know it is a good ignition module. The module was for a 03 or 04 pit so if it fits it's yours.
