Need advice on engine stalling reasons

SKOGDOG

One of the old ones.
My long winded point is when in doubt call Knothead. Thanks to everyone on here that shares your knowledge and advice. It really has made a significant difference for many people over the years.
haha. Snuffy is spot on…… My transmission started leaking oil into the primary—-end play on the input shaft compromised the seal. Happily I had another transmission ready to go, and spent several days disassembling the whole bike to install the trans. Before I was done I had asked advice or borrowed tools from: Mastiff Dave, Blacktopper, Th3Infamous1 (Eric), Knothead (Tracey) and Mr. Wright (Shannon). And of course Donna at HDM and Matt at Baker (very helpful guy there). In addition, I wore out several attachmets on my neighbor’s Dremel grinding on a clutch spring and my primary (bigger rotor), so I’ll replace those too.
I made sure to spread around the phone call questions so no single individual would realize how dumb I am……clever, eh? In reality, each of those guys bent over backwards to help—-Shannon was particularly indulgent. Blacktopper gave me a 3’ torque wrench that made short work of a 160 ft lb crankshaft hub nut, and Dave lent me an impact wrench that I think maybe sprained my wrist! Did you know that the big nut on the output trans shaft is 1 7/8” and is a lefthand thread and costs $32? I found that out because I thought it was rt hand thread, paid $25 for the big ass socket and used Mastif Dave’s impact wrench which promptly peeled all threads from that nut-haha.You learn all kinds a stuff. Big Dog guys are the best!!
Truly, without the Big Dog community, it would not go so well—finished the job this afternoon and now impatiently waiting the 24 hrs curing time for the stator plug Permatex.
Just in time. Headed to Galveston with Blacktopper soon to the Lone Star Rally. Stay tuned.
