MYSTERY OIL LEAK

Well went for a ride and noticed an oil mist on top of my primary, on the battery cover and rear peg, etc, etc....cant tell if its the primary or the engine seal. got pic's where i see some traces. chime in on thoughts.

Look at the rear of the rockerbox. I had a leak that I noticed on the primary that originated at the left rear of the rockerbox on rear cylinder.

X2 what dawgboy said, had the same problem, it starts with a light misting and progresses to a drip eventually. Mine was on the left corner also, it is on the lower rocker cover on the left side. The gasket under it is very narrow at that point and it gets squeezed out by pressure and vibration. The gasket is a composite fiber material and the new one is a coated metal. It fixed mine from leaking.

First thought is rocker boxes as said above.

Same as above.....I tightened my rocker box screws and mine stopped leaking

Are you sure its not blowback from a fork seal?

Thanks guys, will check all....:up:... but now Skydiver got me to thinking also. :loony:...is a little more oil on that perticular fork than usual. I have always had small traces on the forks since i bought it that i clean off when getting ready to ride.

My Rocker Box has a small leak on the rear cylinder and when I ride it leaves what looks like regular blow by on my oil tank. Just FYI.
