Myrtle Beach. I have a lot of friends that say they are not going! They are saying that if they don't want us or our money they won't go!

I am still going, I don't think they can kill it. I personally stay south most of the time so all of the ordinances that they have enacted that affect the city will not come into play: ie; the helmet law! Suck Bang Blow, the original and the new one are not in the city, the Broken Spoke, Dead Dog and all the rest of the places south of the city are not affected!

The more people that go the better!! Having a tiny little bit of law enforcement experience, lol, I can tell you this. The more people you have the less these ordinances affect. These ordinances will be used to target individuals that are troublesome and the majority of law abiding citizens will be left alone! Believe me, the more people you have to deal with the more difficult to enforce!!

THUNDER BEACH ALL THE WAY

I have been going to Myrtle Beach every year all the way back to 1970 when my folks took me as a child been doing bike week there 18 straight years but NEVER AGAIN... WHY GO SPEND YOUR CASH WHERE THEY DONT WANT YOU... When I saw the effort Panama City put out by sending people to Myrtle for advertise there "MOST FRIENDLY BIKE WEEK IN AMERICA" now thats where I want to spend my CASH.... I booked a room at Aqua Condo its in the middle of everything as far as I can tell... and the 641 mile ride will be nice for the dog.. APRIL 29 TO MAY 3RD  PISS ON MYRTLE

I have gone to Myrtle 7 out of the last 8 years and have always had a blast. I am seriously thinking about Thunder Beach this year because of the new ordinances and just to have a change of scenery. Myrtle has been fun, but I think it's time to try something new.

Chili, Aqua is in the middle of everything. I was in Panama for a short vacation about 6 months ago and saw it. Seems like a nice place!

Myrtle Beach !!! Everyone is under some misconception that the people of Myrtle Beach do not want the bikers there. That is the furthest from the truth. It is the politicians that decided this. The simple answer would be to run and hide from them but the smart thing to do is to go and enjoy yourself just as normal. If you do not want to wear a helmet then stay out of the city limits. WHat everyone is missing is that the actual "city limits" dont really have much going on anyway. I say go and spend the money on your hotels or houses everywhere but inside the city limits. With the exception of Doug House South and Broadway all the good biker bars are not even inside the city limits. A year or so will go by and the politicians will realize the revenue is being spent outside the city limits and they will be forced by the business owners and hotel operators to revert back to the way the laws stand now. Thats just my 2 cents but one thing for certain is the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

I'll hit Myrtle again. We went to both last year. Spring was great. You needed to know where to go for the Fall Rally. As long as you stayed south of the HD in Murrels Inlet on Hwy 17 you were ok. Both SBB's, Broken Spoke, Beaver Bar, Dog House South were still a good time.

I agree....Myrtle Beach is awesome...Staying south is the thing to do
....the north side is not fun at all...to much traffic and what not...just seams more crazy up there with people....the beaches and the clubs are better in the south....
We will be going in the fall, maybe spring...not sure yet....

I'll tell you what pisses me off more than the new Laws is the prices there charging for parking around the vender area's....charging for bikes now and exspensive at that....not good....

I have been to Thunder Beach spring rally twice now and I love. It is trully biker friendly and it is growing. Me and jerr06-k9 will be there first weekend in May. Hope to see some forum members there. Never been to Myrtle but my brother inlaw has and says its a good time also.

Screw Myrtle, I'm going to do AZ and just rent a bike this year. The loud pipe thing alone is going to be a bitch. Imagine the first day of the rally, you get impounded, what a pain in the ass it will be to get your bike back.

I plan on being at Thunder Beach. This will be my first year so I am curious about where folks are staying. Would like to camp somewhere.:D

Screw Myrtle Beach!!! I know a couple of cops from down there who state that the whole reason for the new ordinances was to do away with the so called "black bike week" (no pun intended) which typically kicks off the week after the sponsored spring rally. Appearently it's been a huge problem for years and it really takes it's toll on the local businesses in terms of revenue and other crap. Anyhow, my wife and I went down for the Fall Rally and both my K9 w/ Big Radius (baffles in) and my wife's sporty 883 V&H Shorty's (baffles in) both got written warnings for noise. MB city limits covers a large area including the bypass 17. Pickings are slim south of the city in terms of lodging; therefore, we aren't even messing with it this spring. They had random check point everywhere. It really wasn't as fun as past experiences. I could care less about the helmet law because I wear one everyday, but I'm not putting my stock pipes back on.

Where's Thunder beach? We're there...

No offense but you were in the wrong spot. I was there for 3 days and saw none of this because I never stepped one foot in Myrtle. Like I said in my previous post, you need to stay BELOW the HD on 17. Murrels Inlet / Surfside has plenty of Hotels to stay at. We were 1 mile from the HD dealership only because the hotel .3 miles from SBB was full. There were plenty of people with loud pipes and barely anyone was wearing a helmet.
