Franco, sober up,take a deep breath or two,find some patience and a volt meter,read all the post on here about charging systems,call Andrew with your questions and fix you yellow bitch! Wtf you face worse situations than this every day when you are on duty. Man up and do it!

Ignore me and flame me on old school wiring and use your bike as an art object in your garage... A HD shop will do ya some good and will wire it proper and you will be able to ride the damn thing without worrying about making friends on the side of the road or gettin home! It's your choice.... Haven't you had enough? I'm on 2 other HD chopper sites and the ONLY electrical posts are about starters or batteries... I hot wired my bike, pulled out all the computer/module/box crap and put on over 5k on it since with no problems. You seem like a bright guy it's time you wised up.... Just look at all the threads about the electrical systems going down... All I want to do is ride and I'm doing that now on my beautiful 2004 BD chopper with HD wiring (sort of)... If you have a stock wiring system and it's doing fine then leave it alone! Until you start to have problems.

Make your BD bulletproof:
1- Tear out all the electrical crap BD put into it. (some wires can stay as well as all lights, tach,spedo ign switch, coil and ign system)
2- Buy a nice set of bars and controls for a Harley. Arlen Ness makes a killer set of controls that make BD controls look old fashion and you can redo your bars for HD controls to fit)
3- Rewire it with 1 relay and the Badlands turn signal unit if you need it or want turn signals
4- Ride your bike knowing you will get home and enjoy the ride..... $1,200 max in investment. (maybe $1,800 if you go nuts on the controls) ($800 if you do it yourself and use stock HD controls)

You know I bought a Ford 350 dually with the 6.0 diesel motor. I spent $4k to make the motor bulletproof. Ford did what they did to save momey so did BD. It doesn't work....

Ok, now Curtis it's your chance... Tell him how good the RIP system is and how it is the best thing since pussy....

Not to take any part to your EHC war, but I sure would think twice before taking BD to Spanish Bike shop for rewire! that would be the first American made bike they have ever seen! :roll::roll:
I tend to remember in Spain one has an inspection every year and you have to have blinkers, horn etc… plenty of rules in EU.
If, like it looks, Franco has something wrong with charging, do you figure hard wiring makes VR, stator last longer? I don’t know about electronics but never thought it working that way around. :cheers:

Well, if they are a HD shop they will know HD wiring. With A good diagram any HD shop could rewire it. I don't think his problem is charging it's in the ECH not letting the 12v go back into the battery. The Badlands unit will give him break lights and run lights as well as turn signals and should it go bad he can jump 1 wire to have all his lights working. He has had a lot of problems and his problems would be over with a good rewwire (at least in the electrical department)

By the way EHC has nothing to do with problem you're having.
Your battery is not being charged while the motor is running!

I have circuit breakers on my 2008 Mastif maybe you have fuses on yours.

Keep working on it Franco. You will figure it out. Don't butcher the wiring up like some suggest and for gods sake don't take it to the Harley shop! Your bike is too nice to FUBAR it up. Good luck.

This is completely false. The charging system is separate from the EHC. The EHC has nothing to do with keeping battery charged.
Franco's problem is possibly with the Stator shorting to ground. I discovered the problem while over there but we did not have the parts nor the time to replace it. So we had both agreed to band-aid it till I could send you replacement parts. It seemed to hold off till now. I would not replace just the regulator. With that Stator possibly shorting to ground, You risk burning up the new VR.
I know it's a lot of work to replace all 3, but you can get it done in a days time. The 1 5/16" socket is in with the 3 parts. Borrow your buddies torch and heat that front sprocket nut up like we did before. You should have no problem. And I'm just a phone call or email away

The other option would be for me to just come back over there and show you how its done
